On October 26^th, the first new term opening ceremony of the School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Tongji University, was held in the lecture hall on the first floor of the Shaw Building. The ceremony focused on the theme of ‘A nation’s prosperity lies in the youth – A dialogue between the president and students on entrepreneurship’.

ZHONG Zhihua, President of Tongji University, stated that the Innovation-Driven Development Strategy is a national strategy put forward by General Secretary XI Jinping, and innovation remains the primary engine for development. The fundamental goal of the School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship is to cultivate more top-notch business leaders. Tongji University, through decades of teaching, research and practice, has established an innovation and entrepreneurship education system with Tongji characteristics, and the notion of innovation and entrepreneurship is implemented throughout the process of personnel education. In addition, Tongji University stays highly committed to the commercialization of student interdisciplinary achievements in science and technology. It strives to enable all students to have access to innovation and entrepreneurship education, one half of the students to complete innovation and entrepreneurship programs, and 10% of the students to finish major and minor courses while trying to start high-quality start-ups.

At the ceremony, an introduction was presented by the School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship on the achievements of the school including education system, the construction of teaching teams, and student practice plans.
