The Code for Design of Low and Medium Speed Maglev Transit Edited by Tongji University Published

TheCode for Design of Low and Medium Speed Maglev Transit(CJJ/T262-2017), the industry standard for the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, edited by Tongji University was officially published. The code will be implemented from November 11th, 2017.

In the editing process, the first domestic low-speed maglev engineering test line, Shanghai Lingang test line, was employed for a large number of experiments and studies where advanced technologies and key indicators from other domestic low speed maglev test and operation lines were borrowed. The editing work was directed and accomplished by the Research Center of Maglev Transportation Engineering Technology of Tongji University with joint efforts from 17 fields including maglev transportation research and development, design, manufacture, construction and operation. So far, this code has been the most comprehensive and systematic maglev transportation technical specification in the world.

It took 10 years before the code had finally come into being, which witnessed the ups and downs as well as the changes and development of China's maglev technology from its maturity to the engineering application. The release and implementation of this code will effectively stimulate the use of the medium and low speed maglev transportation technology in engineering application with wholly independent intellectual property rights in China, and will promote the development of advanced rail transit technology.
