A framework agreement on strategic cooperation was signed between Tongji University and eTrust Power (ETP) GroupLtd., located in Zhenjiang, Jiangsu Province on the morning of October 11th, 2017.Vice President GU Xianglin and leaders from the Institute of Engineering and Industry, the School of Material Science and Engineering, and the School of Automotive Studies of Tongji University attended the signing ceremony.
In the ensuing New Energy Summit, the Vice President, as a special guest of the panel discussionsession, introduced the role universities should play in advancing the new-energy industry and the vital importance of the cooperation between institutes of higher education and enterprisesin that regard.
According to the agreement, both sides will participate in the establishment of ‘ETP-Tongji Institute’, to be based in the Jiading Campus, Tongji University. The institute will conduct multiple research projects in accordance withETP`s technologicalneeds and future development. Atotal of 30,000,000 RMBwill be invested by the company for the operation of the institute as well as the research projects in the following five years.
ETP, a holding company ofCITIC Private Equity Funds Management, is a large-scale manufacturer that produces, develops, and sells Lithium-ion batteries and their ancillary products.
