A delegation from Universidad Politecnia de Madrid (UPM), Spain led byMr. Asuncion Gomez, Vice President for Research Development, paid a four-day visit to Tongji University starting from October 7^th. On the afternoon of October 9^th, Prof. WU Guangming, Assistant President of Tongji University, met with the delegation from UPM. WU first extended his warm welcome to our visitors and gave them a briefing of Tongji University. Mr. Gomez introduced his university, its scientific research, esp. itsspecific research areas at its schools and institutes. Both sides expressed their common wish to further strengthen their existing cooperation in research and academic exchange in various fields by making good use ofthe resources from the jointly established Sino-Spanish Campus. They held an intensive discussion on a list of projects that needed common efforts to advance.

On the morning of October 9^th, the delegation visited the Sino-Finnish Center and the Venture Valley at Tongji University. On October 10^th, the delegation visited the wind tunnel laboratory, the seismographic station, and the libraryat the Jiading Campus of the University. In addition, Mr. Gomez met with Mr. SONG Qingguo, the Party Secretary of the School of Software Engineering and explored the possibility of cooperation in artificialintelligence. Mr. SONG also showed the delegation round their Student Innovation Laboratory.
