Accolade Won by Tongji Team

In the mobile-app innovation contest of 2017 National Collegiate Computer Competition (NCCC) that just ended, the program Zuiyan (meaning pure make-up) stood out and won the one and only Grand Prize. Zuiyan was designed by HU Beini, LV Lidong, and WU Shuhan,studentsfrom School of Software Engineering (SOSE), Tongji University, under the instruction of Prof. ZHU Hongming from SOSE.

The competition, which attracted more than 2000 student participants this year, was organized jointly by Zhejiang University and Apple Inc, China. Eventually, 453 pieces of works by students from more than 200 universities were submitted to the expert group. These innovative entries focused on a wide range of subjects, such as health care, old-age pension, education, environmental conservation, flood control, agriculture and industry, security, ‘big data’ management and administration.

As a major section of the NCCC, the mobile-app innovation contest aims to spur college students into a resolution of social problems and issues involving people`s well-beingby innovative technology. Meanwhile, the contest also raises students` passion for life as well as their awareness ofresponsibility in today`s society. Apart from the traditional mobile-app innovation contest, group programming wheel war, and the ‘big data’ challenge, network technique challenge has been newly added to the NCCC.
