On December 24th 2016, URMI (Institute for Urban Risk Management of Tongji University) held its first council meeting. A special invitation was given to Mr. LIU Jun, Deputy Director of Shanghai Municipal Transportation Commission. A total of 31 participants were present including council members, representatives and administration staff.

It was confirmed at the meeting that the council would be constituted by 11 member units including Tongji University. Through election, Mr. FANG Shou’en, Standing Deputy Secretary of the CPC committee of Tongji University was appointed as President of the council, and Mr. SUN Jianping, Dean of URMI was appointed as Vice President of the council.

With “be prepared, get united” as the motto, URMI upholds the principle of “becoming the eye and ear of the city, drawing wisdom of the city, and displaying soul of the city”, and is committed to building a talent pool of urban risk management for high-end think tank, a communication platform for the industry.
