Tongji students achieved excellent results at the first Excellence 9 University Students Math Competition. Students won three Grand Prizes out of five and a first prizein the Math-major Group,and one Grand Prize, two first prizes and four second prizes in the non-math major group.

Our students’ outstanding achievements in the first E9 University Students MathCompetition were contributable to the persistent effortsmade by College of Mathematical Sciences in cultivating mathematical talents,to the continuous improvement of the teaching quality and standards, and to the long-term adherence to a pragmatic style of management. The achievements also demonstrated the importance ofinterdisciplinary development in students that the university had stressed over the years.
