Breakthrough in Epigenetics Published in Natureby Professor GAO Shaorong’s Laboratory of Tongji Univ

September 14, 2016

On September19, 2016, a paper of Distinct features of H3K4me3 and H3K27me3 chromatin domains in pre-implantation embryoswas published online in Nature by Professor GAO Shaorong’s Laboratory of Tongji University. It was the first time to reveal the process of Histone H3K4me3 and Histone K27me3 modification in mice preimplantation embryo development and discover the important role broad H3K4me3 modification played in regulation of gene expressions.

The research result created the Histone H3K4me3 and Histone K27me3 modification band in mice preimplantation embryo development and discoveredaspecial epigenetic mechanism of preimplantation embryo development, which opened the door tofurther research into preimplantation embryo development and the epigenetic mechanism in early stage of differentiation.
