On the afternoon of 13th June, the opening ceremony of 2015-2016 Xtep China University Football League (CUFL) (premier) was held at Tongji University. Prof. PEI Gang, President of Tongji University, WANG Gang, Vice-Chairman of Federation of University Sports of China (FUSC) and WANG Zhiwei, Deputy Inspector of Shanghai Municipal Education Commission attended the ceremony.

CFUL is believed to be the most influential university football event in China that has attracted the largest number of participants. As a result of fierce competitions for over six months, sixteen teams entered the finals from provincial and regional games in the northern and southern regions, including Beijing Institute of Technology, the northern champion for this season and the 2014-2015 defending champion, Hohai University, the southern champion this season and Tongji University, the runner-up and host of the CUFL for this year. From 13th to 20th June, they will compete for the championship of 2015-2016 CFUL (premier) at Tongji University with their best performances of university football games in China. The winner will, on behalf of China, attend the 29th Taipei Summer Universiade in 2017.
