Tongji University Team Won Second Place at the Odyssey of the Mind World Finals

On 25th May 2016, the 37th Odyssey of the Mind World Finals was staged at Iowa State University (ISU), Ames, Iowa, U.S.A., with the participation of more than 830 teams from all over the world. In the device design competition for college students named Something Fishy, Tongji University team finished runner-up to the American team who defended its 2015 championship, beating other teams from Shanghai.

After days of careful preparations, Tongji University team passed both improvisational and long-term tests. The team distinguished itself from the rest of competitors by scoring full marks on improvising, thus showcasing the remarkable qualities and capabilities of students from Tongji University. Furthermore, for the long-term test, its team members made concerted efforts to design plots and devices, which earned praise from its counterparts from around the globe.

Tongji University team consisted of seven members, with four from Sino-German Engineering College and the rest from College of Transportation Engineering, College of Art and Media, and School of Mechanical Engineering.
