The Second Ritsumeikan University Food Festival at Tongji University

May 06, 2016

The second Ritsumeikan University Food Festival was held at Tongji University: in the Southwest Dining Hall of Siping campus on May 4th and in the Jiayuan Dining Hall of Jiading campus on May 5th. A team of seven members from Ritsumeikan University led by Yo Unoki brought traditional Japanese food including Teriyaki Chicken Rice and Tonkotsu Ramen set packages to Tongji University. Students and teachers were impressed by Japanese food culture following the two-day food festival.

Chefs from Ritsumeikan University made the classical Japanese food Tonkotsu Ramen and a new Teriyaki Chicken Rice for students and teachers at Tongji. The melt-in-the-mouth porcine cartilage in Tonkotsu Ramen, soaked in the rich and tasty Tonkotsu soup, left the Ramen lovers a long-lasting aftertaste. The Teriyaki Chicken Rice tasted fresh and delicious for its rich ingredients. Boneless drum sticks dipped in rich sauce and topped up with crunchy seaweed brought diners enjoyment both to their mouth and to their eyes. The ingredients for the food festival were all shipped direct from Japan to keep the original flavor of the food. The two set packages were hugely popular among the students and teachers, who stood in long queues waiting patiently for the special food. Both packages were sold out very soon because of the cost-effective price of 15 yuan per package and the convenient One-for-all Card payment.
