German Music Week at Tongji University

On the evening of March 15th, a two-piano concert by German musicians was held in the auditorium of Tongji University to commemorate the 260th anniversary of the birth of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozartand the 100th anniversary of the death of Max Reger, marking the beginning of the second German Music Week at Tongji University. Professor Elisabeth Gutjahr, president of the Trossingen University of Music, and Mrs. Jinming Ma, vice party secretary of Tongji University, attended the concert and addressed the audience.

A series of activities were organized by the College of Art and Communication of Tongji University and the Trossingen University of Music during the German Music Week, among which were six themed concerts interpreting classical masterpieces, music workshops involving artist interactions with audience and seminars exploring music and art communication. The first two-piano concert was followed by five more concerts including A Trip to Breathe the Music, Duet Concert, Art Song Collection, Chamber Music & Aria Salon, and Gala Concert which demonstrated new interpretations of the classical masterpieces of Mozart, Beethoven, Schumann and Schubert by Chinese and German musicians.
