
Tongji entrepreneur again! Mr. ZHANG Nan, CEO of Tonnor Material Science, was on the list of Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia, (he was on the list of Forbes 30 Under 30 China in 2014) announced by American business maganize Forbes. It was the first time for Forbes to select Asian business leaders under 30 from 10 fields. As founder and CEO of Tonnor Material Science, Zhang Nan was named under the category of manufacturing and energy.
Tonnor Material Science was founded as a start-up business funded by Venture Foundation of Tongji University in 2007. Over the years it has obtained nearly 30 patents and developed a manufacturing base of 40,000㎡. It has become a Patent Pilot Unit of Shanghai, and a Favored IPR enterprise of Shanghai. Since its foundation, Tonnor was persistent in using environment-friendly materials to make contributions to China’s cellulose industry by treating thousands of tons of solid waste environmentally friendly. Tonnor developed building dust suppression fiber in 2015 to help curb the smog problem in Shanghai, a Chinese solution to building construction dust -- the main source of PM2.5. The company will expand its business to the civil market for better service to the local economy by using environment-friendly technology and materials.
