Tongji Student Wins First Prize in LTPP International Competition

Mr. CHEN Xueqin, a student from the Department of Geotechnical Engineering, Tongji University, won the first prize in LTPP Data-analysis International Competition (challenge class) of T&DI of ASCE, for a paper entitled Development of Distress Condition Index Using the LTPP Data through Structural Equation Modeling, which was co-authored by Dr. Qiao DONG from the University of Tennessee,Prof. Hehua ZHU from Tongji University, China and Prof. Baoshan HUANG from the University of Tennessee, USA. CHEN eventually won $1,500 from ASCE, and an opportunity to attend the 95th TRB conference funded by FHWA (worth of $1,200). CHEN presented her paper at the conference held at Washington D.C on 10th-14th January, 2016. This was the first time that students from universities in China won a prize in LTPP Competition.
