A propaganda activity themed as “The Clean Plate Campaign is Continuing” was collaboratively organized by the committee of the CYL of Tongji University and the student federation of the School of Material Science and Engineering. It was simultaneously launched on the Siping Road and on the Jiading Campuses. As a part of the Green Campus Practical Activity sponsored by the committee of the CYL of Tongji University, the Clean Plate Campaign includes a series of activities that are designed to spread the idea of appreciation for the foods. The first activity was “Clean Plate for our Earth,” which was to curb food waste for the protection of the earth’s environment.

Posters of this activity were placed beside every dining table of the Xueyuan Food Court, the Xiyuan Canteen and the Sanhaowu International Students’ Restaurant on the Siping Road Campus and of the Chunheyuan and Qiuguyuan Canteens on the Jiading Campus. You can participate in the activity by taking a picture of your clean plate after a meal to prove that you never waste any food and then sharing it on the Moments of your WeChat and also by inviting ten friends to take part in the activity. Sending your screenshots of the activity to the official WeChat account “Tongji Material” will give you a chance to enter a lottery. Many participants have shared their pictures on their WeChats. The activity was warmly supported by the faculty and students of Tongji as many of them signed their names to a call for frugality.
