The 11^thInternational Conference on Green and Energy-Efficient Building & New Technologies and Products Expo was held at the China National Convention Center in Beijing on March 24^thand 25^th. At the two-day event, the achievements of the industry’s development were displayed, the development course of the industry was analyzed, and the trends of China’s green building were discussed. This is the biggest and most professional exposition and conference on green building in China and Southeast Asia.

The event was organized by the Chinese Society for Urban Studies, China Green Building Council, and the Eco-City Research Committee of China under the support of the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development. Around the theme ofPromoting the Performance of Green Building, and Boosting the New-Type Urbanization, one main forum, 37 sub forums and one expo were held during the event. The conference was hosted by Mr. QIU Baoxing, councilor of the State Council and former Vice-Minister of Housing and Urban-Rural Development. During the opening ceremony speeches were given by Mr. Guy Saint-Jacques, the Canadian Ambassador, Mr. Hans-Dietmar Schweisgut, the Ambassador of the European Union, Mr. LYU Ruifeng, a Member of the Standing Committee of CPC Shenzhen Municipal Committee and the Executive Vice-Mayor of Shenzhen, Sir Michael Bear, the chairman of Regeneration Investment Organization, the UK Trade and Investment and UK Special Envoy for Sustainable Urbanization to China, Mr. Mahesh Ramanujam, chief operating officer of the US Green Building Council, and Mr. John Mandyck, chief sustainability officer at United Technologies Building and Industrial Systems.

This was the 8^thmeeting of the China Green Building Council (China GBC) and its outstanding contributions to the establishment and application of the green campus standard in 2014. The China Green Campus Group led by Prof. WU Zhiqiang, Vice President of Tongji University and president of the Tongji Green Building Council (TGBC) was awarded the First Prize of the Advanced Groups 2014 by the China GBC. Members of TGBC LONG Weiding, HAN Jihong, CHENG Dazhang, TAN Hongwei, WANG Zisong, LIANG Hao, YANG Jianrong, LI Jingguang, ZHANG Shecan, CAO Chunli, TIAN Huifeng, MA Suzhen, and YUAN Feng led the organizing of the conference or made significant speeches. They all played important roles in the development of green building in China.
