Septmember 15th2014, first Group of eight students admitted to Tongji-UNSW Dual Awards Program in Architecture just starts their journey at Tongji, CAUP.
The first Architectural design studio class is led by three professors, Prof. Zhang Jianlong, Prof. Yinjia, and Associate Prof. Cen Wei. The first task of the studio is to represent of the biological space. The students are assigned to select organisms (Human body) which should contain at least three connected voids and try to represent its spatial form by using clay. Starting from Sept 22, Dr. Haeusler from UNSW will also join the teaching program at Tongji University for a short period of time.
As a new mode of Educational Internationalization, Tongji-UNSW Dual Awards in Architecture Program is CAUP’s new approach to reformation of educational pattern. Both Architecture Schools determine to bring in the best teaching team and teaching resources and the students are selected through joint admission procedure. Aiming at cultivate first-class Architects, this program only recruit international students with high potential of Architecture design. Students will study 2 years at Tongji and 2 years at the University of New South Wales and be awarded with two bachelor degrees from two Universities.
It is reported that the Tongji-UNSW Dual Awards in Architecture Launch & Introduction Event was held on March 29th 2014 at the Bell Hall Auditorium of Tongji. And just 9 days earlier, Sept 6th, the Launch & Introduction Event in Sydney was held at UNSW during its Open Day, which means 2015 oversea recruitment begins now.
