From July 19 to 21, TONGJI D&I summer school 2014 was held. 30 students were selected from nearly 150 applicants of 25 colleges and universities, such as Tongji University, Zhejiang University, Hunan Universtiy, Jiangnan University, and so on.

During the- three days, Prof. LOU Yongqi, Dean of College of Design and Innovation, Prof. SUN Xiaohua, Vice Dean of College of Design and Innovation, and other Professors of D&I introduced the overall structure, teaching idea, current researches and faculty of D&I. This summer school provided workshops of four majors including Environmental Design, Product Design, Media & Communication Design and Interaction Design for the students.

Through links such as on-the-spot investigation, mind-expanding exercises, team cooperation tasks, reviews on works and communication between teachers and students, the students presented their creative and meaningful works on the subjects they selected, which demonstrated their designs, deepened their understanding of teaching methods and respective disciplines, and gave full play to the role of summer school in better mutual understanding between students and the college.

At the same time, WANG Rihua, Executive Secretary of Shanghai Industrial Design Association (SIDA), visited D&I and communicated withthe teachers and students there about details of this summer school.
