July 9th, 2014, 6:00PM, Bauhaus-Universität Weimar hosted the Academic Celebration of 10 Years Joint Double Degree Program “Master of Science Advanced Urbanism (AdUrb)” between Tongji University and Bauhaus-Universität Weimar. The delegation from Tongji University was composed of the following professors: Prof.Dr. Qi Dong, Botschaftsrat der Bildungsabteilung, Gesandteran der Botschaft der Volksrepublik China in der Bundesrepublik Deutschland, Berlin; Prof. Dr. Jiemin Ding, President of Tongji Architectural Design(Group)co., LTD, Assistant to the President of Tongji University; Prof. Dr. Zhenyu Li, Dean of College of Architecture and Urban Planning(CAUP); Prof. Dr. Tongyu Sun, Deputy Director, Office of Science & Technology; Prof. Dr. Shuoning Tang, Assistant Dean of CAUP; and Prof. Dr. Lan Wang, Assistant Dean of CAUP. The distinguished guests from Bauhaus-Universität Weimar included Prof. Bernd Rudolf, Dean, Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism; Prof.Dr. Barbara Schönig, Director, Institute for European Urban Studies; Prof.Dr.JuttaEmes, Prorector Academic Affairs and Prof. Dr.-Ing. Bernd Nentwig, JointDouble Degree ProgramDirector. The participants recalled the development history of this joint double degree program in the last ten years, celebrated its success and anticipated the corporation in the next ten years.July 10th, 2014, the symposium titled “Common Senses and Challenges in Chinese and German Urban Development” was held at the Main Faculty Building. Prof.Dr. Karl Beucke, Rector, Bauhaus-Universität Weimar; Prof.Dr. Qi Dong, Botschaftsrat der Bildungsabteilung, Gesandteran der Botschaft der Volksrepublik China in derBundesrepublik Deutschland, Berlin; Kirsten Habbich, German Academic Exchange Service: Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst DAAD; and Prof. Dr. Zhenyu Li, Dean of CAUP gave opening remarks. It was followed by six academic lectures from professors of both universities, including Prof. Zhenyu Li, Prof. Tongyu Sun and Prof. Lan Wang from CAUP. The celebration was concluded with the Summer Night presentation through AdUrb students of current Study Project. Students from CAUP in the joint double degree program participated in the exhibition and presented their work.
