Prof. CHAN, Hon S (陳漢宣), Acting Head of the Department of Chinese, Translation and Linguistics, CityU visited the School of Foreign Languages (SFL) with Assistant Head, Dr. LEE, Po Lun on 1stApril. Prof. MA Qiuwu, the Dean of SFL, Tongji University and other faculties met the guests.
The two parties intended to discuss the potential cooperation on the Joint Doctoral Programme in Linguistics, both sides had interests in the future cooperation in many ways.
City University of Hong Kong (CityU) is only 30 years old. However, it certainly travelled a long way to becoming a world-class university providing excellent professional education and conducting cutting-edge research. For 2013, the QS (Quacquarelli Symonds) ranking for Linguistics at CityU rose from 40 last year to 22, making CityU the top-ranked university in Hong Kong in this subject.
