On the evening of March 26th, Tongji on Tracks Student Management Team completed a 4-hour intensive workshop at Sino-Finnish Center, which topic is “Lvxingxia Environmental Video Sponsor Project”. During the 4 hours, inspired by innovation tutor JC, led by Sino-Finnish Center teacher Danny Wang and project assistant AndiA Wang, students expressed their own opinions freely, worked together efficiently, and got fantastic results in the end.
At 9 o’clock in the evening, innovation supervisor JC briefly introduced the background of “Lvxingxia Environmental Video Sponsor Project” at Backstage, hoping that students could combine environment protection with movement, which is the main character of Tongji on Tracks, and make a video related to environment protection. Then, students were divided into 2 groups, led by Danny Wang and AndiA Wang respectively.
The workshop lasted from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. The first part was brainstorming, and the members of 2 groups came up with a lot of amazing ideas. With more and more ideas expressed and analyzed, the 2 groups established their own general frame of the script. “Using Movable House to Show an Environmental Friendly and Free Life” was determined as the topic of Danny’s group, while AndiA’s group chose “Making a Telecar with Rubbish and Attracting More People to Protect Environment” as their topic. Based on the information mentioned above, the workshop stepped into the second part-prepare for related material. Group members were given different tasks, and they searched and designed related material which would be used to express the theme. With efficient work and cooperation, the workshop stepped into the final part- express the theme. Danny’s group made some well-designed pictures and AndiA’s group produced a fantastic video. After 4 hours with unimaginable efficiency, the 2 groups completed their work and came back to Backstage to give a final presentation.
Danny’s group presented firstly. They illustrated the concept of “movable, eco-friendly and free” with the form of a movable house. Specifically speaking, a movable house will be designed and constructed, many units, decorations and furniture of which are made from recycled rubbish. When Tongji on Tracks team arrives at a new place, the movable house will be constructed to hold an exhibition, attracting local people to take part in, even live in the house freely. At the same time, the team will gather more rubbish to design new things. The farther they travel, the more rubbish they’ll gather, and the more attractive the exhibition will be. After Danny’s group presentation, AndiA’s group presented their own ideas of with a short video, that is, gather different rubbish to make a telecar and the telecar takes handiworks made from rubbish and when the telecar runs on the street, attracting the attention of passers-by, team members will exchange a rubbish from the passer-by with one handiwork on the telecar, and the camera on the telecar will record the expression and voice of the passer-by. The 2 presentations attracted everyone in the backstage because of their innovation. After that, the 2 group members made some good suggestions on the 2 projects’ feasibility and necessity.
In the end, the innovation tutor JC highly praised the two groups’ efficient work and rich achievement, and expressed her opinion about how to combine the 2 projects together and make it more attractive. That made the script of “Lvxingxia” more accessible, and more detailed work would be done in the near future. It was fair to say that the 4-hour intensive workshop turned out to be a great success.
“Lvxingxia Environmental Video Sponsor Project” was launched by public welfare of Alibaba. It will sponsor non-governmental groups and video-production groups to make excellent videos about environment protection, as long as the script and the idea they offer are good and attractive enough.
