On the afternoon of March 6, more than a hundred students took part in an internet chatting with scientists on board the IODP 349 Cruise. Following the webcam, Prof. Chunfeng Li and Jian Lin, chief scientists of the cruise, and Prof. Zhifei Liu, Xixi Zhao, Qianyu Li, Chuanlun Zhang and Chuanlian Liu in turn showed their working Labs, cores taken from the deep of the South China Sea, instruments for analysis of these cores, and shared with students their lives in this “mobile laboratory” on the sea.
