On November 21, Krista Kiuru, Minister of Education and Science visited Sino-Finnish Centre. Zhou Zuyi, Chairman of University Council, Lu Peiming, Director of Human Resource Office, Lou Yongqi, Dean of College of Design and Innovation, Executive Vice Director of Sino-Finnish Centre, Deng Qiujun, Deputy Director of Teaching Affairs Office, Liu Run, Deputy Secretary-General of Youth League, Feng Yiping, Deputy Director of International Exchange and Cooperation Office and Yin Xuefeng, Assistant Dean of School of Electronics and Information attended the meeting.

Chairman Zhou delivered the welcome speech, introducting Tongji University and the Sino-Finnish cooperation. He mentioned that Tongji denotes “cooperation and mutual assistance”, wishing that Tongji could cooperate with Finland in wider field.

Later, Prof. Lou Yongqi, Executive Vice Director of Sino-Finnish Centre introduced Sino-Finnish Centre. Three years has passed since the establishment of Sino-Finnish Centre. As the bridge of Tongji University and Aalto University, Sino-Finnish Centre contributed a lot to the cooperation in education, research, innovation and culture field between two universities and between China and Finland. Now Sino-Finnish Centre has flown beyond Tongji University and becoming a rising star in international innovative cooperation area. In the next step, Sino-Finnish Centre will work as creation-innovation-entrepreneurship platform, finding a middle school/ primary school in Shanghai and Espoo to create innovative sustainable teaching environment from content to pedagogy based on the cooperation between Tongji and Aalto on smart sustainable campus and pedagogical training.

Ms. Kiuru approved the development of Sino-Finnish Centre. She mentioned that Sino-Finnish Centre was a free innovative platform encouraging people to try their best. And the cooperation between China and Finland will have a brighter future.

Witnessed by Ms. Kiuru and Chairman Zhou, Prof. Lou Yongqi signed contract with Mr. Jan-Markus Holm, CEO of EduCluster, Finland, which promotes the Sino-Finnish cooperation in education field.
