On 11th of November, 2013, Professor Zhang Zhengwen, President of Heilongjiang University visited School of Foreign Languages (SFL), Tongji. He was warmly welcomed by Professor Ma Qiuwu, Dean of SFL, Li Ligui, Chief of School Council and other faculty members.

The appointment was delivered by Professor Chen Yiyi, Executive Vice President of Tongji University. The honor was given in recognition for Prof Zhang’s long-term engagement and contribution on the academic achievements in the studies of German philosophy, aesthetic as well as the cooperation and partnership with Tongji.

Later, Prof Zhang shared his newly research outcomes with the faculties and students by given the lecture titled “On the Eco-cultural Components of German Aesthetic Discourse of Modernity”. He explained that the establishment and independence of aesthetics, rationalist readjustment and the generation of value rationality, as well as the establishment of artistic publicity in German Enlightenment are the major components of German cultural ecology. He pointed out that the unique cultural ecology determines the historical fate and essential characteristics of German aesthetic discourse of modernity.
