The signing ceremony of theDual Master Degree Programbetween Iowa State University of Science and Technology and Tongji University was held on Nov 4, 2014 at Tongji University. Delegates of both sides, Prof. Wu Changfu, dean of the CAUP of Tongji University and Prof. Luis Rico-Gutierrez, dean of the College of Design of ISU, attended the ceremony and signed the agreement. According to the agreement, Iowa State University will accept two Tongji graduate students major in Architecture, who should meet the admission requirements and nominated by the dual degree committee of home institute, pursuing Master of Science (MS) degree after one-year study at Iowa State University. And the students will go back to Tongji to continue the third year of the program, namely a “1+1+1” scale, and they will receive degrees from both the universities. In exchange, Tongji will accept two graduate students from ISU each year and the ISU students will receive Master Degree from both universities. In addition, the agreement also includes short term student exchange program at the undergraduate level and joint design studios between two sides. Prof. Li Xiangning, director of the CAUP International Cooperation Office, Dr. Wang Ke, coordinator of the program, Ms. Dong Bijing, coordinator of the CAUP International Cooperation Office, and Prof. Chan Chiu Shui, ISU coordinator of the program, Mr. and Ms. Beckman, advisor to the dean of ISU also attended the signing ceremony.
