From October 21 to October 26, International Design Factory Week 2013 was held in Sino-Finnish Centre. Design Factory members from Finland, Chile, Australia, USA, Estonia, Switzerland and India gathered together for this week.

Family members from Design Factories had a brief seminar introducing the Aalto Design Factory history and the global updates in the afternoon, October 21.

Afterwards, Design Factory members participated in brainstorm workshop for two days, sharing skills of different Design Factory, and coming up with ideas for developing Design Factories and promoting the Design Factory Global Network.

Design Factory members also held an international forum in stage of Sino-Finnish Centre, representatives of Design Factories introduced the spirit and practice of their home Design Factory, all the members got to know more about each Design Factory.

During Design Factory Week, members from Design Factories visited Design and Innovation College, Tongji University, Tongji Architectural Design (Group). Co, Ltd. and Tongji Startups Valley. Chief of Aalto Design Factory, Eetu expressed willingness to cooperate with Tongji Startups Valley.

On October 24, Design Factory members had breakfast and started a brand new day with Tongji students. Traditional Finnish porridge and bread were served in the bright sunshine, and all the members enjoyed the breakfast a lot!

October 26, Sino-Finnish Centre celebrated its 3-year anniversary with friends all over the world. At the end of the ceremony, global Design Factories wished happy birthday to Sino-Finnish Centre. All the people made a circle, standing next to each other, holding their hands, shared their friendship and strength with each other.

International Design Factory Week 2013 deepened the communication among Design Factories all around the world and promoted the development of Design Factory Global Network. Design Members are looking forward to the Design Factory Week next year. One of the organizer of International Design Factory 2013, Paivi from SDF said that she was so glad to see so many Design Factory members, and wish all people could learn more and do better the next year.
