On October 21st, International Design Factory Week 2013 open ceremony was held in Aalto-Tongji Design Factory. The DF Week will last until October 27th. The main theme of DF Week 2013 is “Share Your Skills and Expertise”.

ATDF warmly welcomed people from ADF (Finland), DDF (Chile), SDF (Australia), Pace University (USA), Mektory (Estonia), IdeaLab@Cern (Switzerland), IITK (India). It’s a pleasure for ATDF to host so many friends from all over the world!

Family members from Design Factories all around the globe had a brief seminar introducing the Aalto Design Factory history and the global updates, mainly about the visual image and brand of the network, in the afternoon.

Everyone also introduced themselves with the help of some postcards and we took photos of the participants and printed them to ATDF kitchen wall.

In the evening, DF family members had a good Chinese dinner and enjoyed ATDF’s sauna.

During this International DF Week, DF people will participate in several workshops and forums to discuss the future development of Design Factories and build stronger network collaboration. We hope that we could deepen understanding of the concept for Design Factory and promote networking on all levels.
