On the afternoon of Oct.13, Zhou Zuyi and Jiang Bo, the secretary of Party Committee and vice president of Tongji University, met withJosé Maria Marin, the chairman of the Brazilian football confederation and his delegation at Xuri Building.

Zhou Zuyi warmly welcomed Marin and his delegation, giving a brief introduction of Tongji University and the development of football game in Tongji. He said Tongji played a key role in football confederation of China College Student Sports Association as well as Shanghai College Student Football Confederation, and led 239 junior and middle schools and colleges to build the Shanghai Campus Football Confederation, devoting to the football development during youngsters in Shanghai. He believed that Mr. Marin’s visit would promote the development of football game in Tongji and welcomed Brazilian football coaches and athletes to come to Tongji for guidance, and also hoped for future cooperation with the Brazilian football.

Mr. Marin said that football, sports and education went hand in hand and could play a good role in guiding and facilitating communication between people especially in the growth stage of youth. He hoped that football could become the language of communication between each other and establish more extensive and in-depth cooperation in football with Tongji University.

After the meeting, the delegation watched the training of our school football team and had a brief exchange and guidance with the coaches and athletes.
