Cooperation and Exchanges with Hong Kong, Macau & Taiwan

2012 is the second year of implementation of the “three 300s” program in our university. Throughout the year, the number of exchange students studying in Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan reached 571 (among them, 179 students were for one-term exchange program or double-degree program). The number of short term exchange students reached 392 (including those for graduate design). Moreover, 352 teachers were sent to Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan for visiting or academic exchange. Throughout the year of 2012, Tongji sent 923 students and teachers to Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan for academic activities and received 946 guests vice versa. The significant events were as follows:

1. Cooperation agreements were respectively signed between Tongji and “National Taiwan Normal University”, Tamkang University and Fu Jen Catholic University, etc.

2. Liaison Office of Feng Chia University and Liaison Office of Shih Hsin University were set up in Tongji; “Feng Chia University Day” and “Shih Hsin University Day” were held successfully.

3. Tongji University Day was held successfully in Feng Chia University.

4. Liaison Offices of Tongji University were set up respectively in Hong Kong Polytechnic University and Shih Hsin University.

5. 300 students from 8 schools attended summer school in Taiwan, promoting the coupling of disciplines between Tongji and partner universities in Taiwan.
