Further development of international cooperation network: to strengthen the tie with Europe,

exploit cooperation possibilities in America and reach out to Asia Pacific area

In 2012, Tongji further strengthened the cooperation with Europe as well as that with UN organizations and achieved new development in the cooperation with US. Members of our university leadership were present at the China-EU High-Level People-to-People Dialogue Forum (CEHLPDF) and "Rio+20" United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development, etc. In the Sino-Europe Engineering Education Platform (SEEEP), Tongji played a leading role and put forward the “Harbin Roadmap”, “Proposal on the Establishment of Sino-Europe Engineering Doctoral School” and “Sino-Europe Double Master Program and its credit recognition”. “Tongji Day” was held respectively in TU Berlin and Ruhr University of Bochum and “Milan Day” in Tongji with our strategic partner universities. Tongji-Berkeley Alliance Conference was held in University of California-Berkeley. Various forms were taken in the cooperation with UNEP, UN-HABITAT and UNESCO. Moreover, President Pei Gang received honorary doctorate from University of Nebraska in US and Feng Chia University in Taiwan. Rules and regulations were gradually formed during the cooperation.
