Sino-Finnish Center`s visit to the 2012 Global Design Factory Week

On Oct. 5th, 2012, Global Design Factory Week ended successfully in Finland. During the five days’ activities, delegates from design factories around the world retrospect the history, discussed current developing status and exchanged thoughts about future factory patterns. The host designed many interesting activities including various seminars, Corporate Day and so forth.

On Oct. 3rd, Aalto Design Factory held its fourth anniversary of foundation. Delegates recapped the past four years of Aalto Design Factory and explored visions for the future in a co-creative manner. Seminars and Panel discussion were held to celebrate the four years of ADF and explore the future of ADF 2.0. After that, the audiences were encouraged to contribute to the development of ADF, powered by refreshments and snacks.

On Oct. 4th, delegates from design factories around the world and IITK in India shared their own developing status, discussed the necessity, possibility of research cooperation and detailed initiative steps. In the afternoon, delegates from four universities carried out discussions on the value and influence of establishing the global network for design factories, as well as the difficulties and solutions ahead. On the last day’s seminar, university delegates exchanged ideas about the 13 principles of design factory, together with their future presentations in specific environment and regional diversities.
