On the afternoon of September 6th, President Pei Gang participated in the presidents’ seminar in Suzhou as one of the 40th-anniversary normalization of diplomatic relations, organized by three universities of Japan Kansai and five Chinese universities of the east, with other attendees including the President Hideki Fukuda of Kobe University, President Hiroshi Matsumoto of Kyoto University, President Toshio Hirano of Osaka University, President Zhang Jie of Shanghai Jiaotong University, President Zhu Xiulin of Suzhou University, President Yang Wei of Zhejiang University, Vice- President Professor Cai Dafeng of Fudan University. Participants included 250 academic, business and political people and some Tongji professors.

Eight presidents reported on global international personnel training, introduced practices and strategies on the international personnel training of each university and the topic that has been discussed.

Professor Li Fengting, Associate Dean of IESD gave the lecture on the theme of "green innovation" in the morning.
