Tongji Sino-Italian Strategic Advisory Board holds its first meeting

On June 20th, Tongji Sino-Italian Strategic Advisory Board held its first meeting in Sino-French Center. Francesco Profumo, Italian Minister of Education, Universities and Research, Attilio Massimo Iannucci, Ambassador of Italy in China, Vincezo De Luca, Consul General of Italy in Shanghai, Fang Shouen, Vice President of Tongji University and members of Tongji Sino-Italian Strategic Advisory Board attended the meeting hosted by Vice President Prof. Li Guoqiang, Dean of the Sino-Italian Campus.

Vice President Fang Shouen commented in his speech that "Since its inauguration on May 24th 2012, Tongji Sino-Italian Strategic Advisory Board has received support and affirmation from both Chinese and Italian parties. All the members present here are the elite in their fields, who will offer suggestion and proposal for the Tongji Sino-Italian cooperation and search for the development opportunities together. Then Minister Profumo, and Consul General De Luca, the first President of Tongji Sino-Italian Strategic Advisory Board respectively delivered speeches, both of whom expressed that the Italian government paid high attention and would provide great support to the cooperation between Tongji University and Italy, especially on Industry-University-Research cooperation. Four representatives of members, CEO of Pirelli Asia Pacific Gregorio Borgo, Deputy General Manager of Shanghai Tongji-rim Creative Design Industries Construction & Development Xi Rongqing, Country Manager Magneti Marelli China Luca Biagini and Country Manager Ariston Thermo China Salvatore Serio respectively gave speeches by first introducing their companies and present development situation and then expressing their proposals for the cooperation with Tongji University and with other members of Tongji Sino-Italian Strategic Advisory Board. The meeting successfully ended with closing remarks given by Minister Profumo.
