On May 21st, Finland Day was held in Sino-Finnish Centre. Prof. Wu Zhiqiang, Vice President of Tongji University, and Matti Heimonen, Consul General of Finland, attended the activity and addressed opening speeches to all the guests.

Vice President Wu Zhiqiang expressed his thanks to all the people present and wished Finland Day a success. By introducing social, innovative and other situations to the audience, Matti Heimonen provided them with a general idea of society and humanity in Finland.
During the day, there were lots of activities, e.g. lectures, meeting with companies, press conference for Tongji on Tracks 2012, food workshop, small education exhibition, etc.
Prof. Lou Yongqi and Prof. Yrjo Sotamaa, Vice Directors of SFC, gave a brief introduction to SFC and Radical Design Week. Mr. Tommi Nieminen, Immigration Officer at Consulate General of Finland in Shanghai, shared traveling and visiting in Finland as well as information of getting a visa. Mr. Teemu Naarajarvi from Nordic Centre of Fudan University talked about study, life and higher education in Finland. Ms. Pia Heikkurinen, Chairman of the Finnish School of Shanghai, invited 4 Finnish kids to sing Finnish songs for all the guests. She also informed the importance of equality, trust and social competence in Finnish education. Mr. Matti Hamalainen, Operative Director of Aalto-Tongji Design Factory gave a presentation on both modern and traditional Sauna in Finland.
Several famous Finnish companies were also present: Rovio (angry birds) shared with the audience their story of brand building and growth, future plan for development as well as interesting animation about Rovio; Etteplan, a specialist in industrial equipment engineering and technical product information solutions and services, showed its range of services, foundations for success and also its current development in China.
During the press conference of ToT 2012, instructors from both China and abroad provided all the students enrolled with detailed information about workshops, including BNBM 1km2 Green House Solution, Dutch E-Vehicles, Volvo interior design for cars, ihouse, etc.
In addition, we got Ms. Rosanna, Chef from Finland, to conduct the Finnish Food Workshop. Under her instructions, our guests made Carelian Pies, Finnish Cinnamon Rolls and other Finnish style food themselves.
This whole day activity was successfully ended in the laughter of Finland Day Quiz.
