On the afternoon of May 20th, “2012 International Cooperation Week of Tongji University” and Photograph Exhibition on Cooperation with Foreign Countries & Hongkong, Macau, Taiwan of Tongji University was opened in the lobby of Zonghe-Building.

Members of university leadership such as Zhou Zuyi, Pei Gang, Chen Xiaolong, Ma Jinming, Jiang Fuming, Dong Qi, Fang Shouen, Wu Zhiqiang as well as representatives from consulates general of nearly 20 countries in Shanghai, Tongji’s partner institutions and enterprises, Tongji’s colleges, schools and departments and international faculty attended the opening ceremony. President Pei Gang made a welcome speech at the beginning of the ceremony. He emphasized the importance of international cooperation in the development of Tongji University and appreciated the help and support of the organizations in and outside the university.

After that, Zhou Zuyi, Chairman of the University Council passed the “power-paddles” to the organization representatives of the eight thematic days who placed them on the “Tongji-boat”. Through this action, the International Cooperation Week was officially launched. Then, all the university leadership members pulled the handbrake to lighten the photograph exhibition on the second floor of Zonghe-Building.
