On April 18th, the China-EU High-Level People-to-People Dialogue Forum (CEHLPDF) was held in EU headquarters located in Brussels, Belgium. Prof. Zhou Zuyi, Chairman of the University Council of Tongji, was invited as one of the representatives from three universities in China, and had a dialogue with experts and scholars from Europe in the Education Session——the 21st Century Student: Learning in a Globalized World.

Mdm. Liu Yandong, China State Councilor and Mrs. Androulla Vassiliou, EU Commissioner for Education, Culture, Multilingualism, Sport, Media and Youth co-launched this dialog forum and co-chaired the first meeting while attending and speaking on the opening ceremony of the forum.

The CEHLPDF aims at promoting not only the strategic position of People-to-People Dialogue in the China-EU relations, but also understanding and friendship between China and Europe. The Education Session, as one of the three main sessions, covers important issues such as student employment, new skill training, teachers’ and students’ transnational exchange and language learning. Prof. Zhou Zuyi had brief meetings and exchanges with Mdm. Liu and Mrs. Vassiliou after the session.

Prof. Zhou Zuyi also visited the Tongji Booth of the China Higher Education Fair, attended the joint performance presented by Chinese and European young artists, and exchanged views with Tongji’s multiple European partner universities and institutions.
