On March 26, Shanghai East Hospital affiliated to Tongji University signed a cooperation agreement with CFE (Caisse des Francais de l'Etranger) and became the first hospital in China to be recognized by French social security system to offer health care for French expats living in China. About 5400 French families, around 20000 French people in China, will benefit from this coverage. They will be able to receive medical treatment at Shanghai East Hospital and the costs will be paid and handled by CFE.
