On March 2nd, Prof. Fang Shouen, Vice President of Tongji University received Mrs. Anna Prat, Head of Large Urban Projects of Municipality of Turin, accompanied by Mr. Raul Thomas Mora, China Representative of Milan Chamber of Commerce Shanghai Office.

Mrs. Prat made a presentation on the large-scale urban project of Municipality of Turin, which aims to convert a brown field in North Turin into a business district and an ecological and smart district. Both parties agreed that the cooperation between Tongji University and Politecnico di Torino in urban planning, mechanics, information engineering and other innovative industries will make outstanding contribution to the development of “Smart City” and should be encouraged and supported by the Municipality of Shanghai and Turin. The two sides discussed about the possible cooperation such as joint establishment of research institution on Smart City through the platform of Sino-Italian Design and Innovation Center (CIDIC), participation of experts from Tongji University in the urban planning projects of Municipality of Turin.
