On February 16th, the 18 Chinese universities of the Sino-Europe Engineering Education Platform convened a conference in Hangzhou.

Officials of the Ministry of Education and the China Scholarship Council spoke on the conference. Li Zhenyu, Director of the International Exchange and Cooperation Office, Tongji University reported the work updates of SEEEP on behalf of the SEEEP Secretariat and the detailed programs of implementation of the Lisbon Action Plan which included the suggestion of dedicated funding of “Sino-Europe Engineering Education Scholarship”, the proposal of establishing Sino-Europe joint doctoral school, the idea of mutual recognition of credits and degrees between Chinese and European universities as well as that of university-company collaboration, information sharing and faculty/staff exchange. Conference participants reached broad consensus on the basis of heated discussion.

The 3rd Sino-EU Workshop on Engineering Education will be hosted in Harbin Institute of Technology late August or early September.
