On the afternoon of 26 Dec., the Building for College of Design and Innovation Tongji University (first phase) and Innovation Field was unveiled in front of the public. Prof. Lou Yongqi, Associate Dean of College of Design and Innovation hosted the ceremony, and Prof. Wu Zhiqiang, Vice President of Tongji University, Ding Jiemin, Dean of TJAD, Wang Rihua, Secretary General of Shanghai Industrial Design Association, Ji Feichong, Vice President of Crystal CG, Huang Wei, Vice President of China Bridge International (CBi) and some other people from inside and outside Tongji attended the ceremony and made speeches.

Vice President Wu Zhiqiang first expressed his thanks to those construction workers for their hard work, and his gratitude to government leaders, especially to Secretary General Wang Rihua, and indicated that the Innovation Field would not only base on the present, but also focus on future development. He hoped that Crystal CG could carry out creation together with Tongji students and confirmed the achievements of many teachers and professors. Meanwhile, he also hoped that Dean Ding Jiemin could support more in order to set up the Institute of Design and Innovation. Mr. Wang Rihua highly appreciated that the Innovation Field was worthy of the name and expressed his best wishes for more innovative products. Mr. Ji Feichong congratulated the establishment of the Innovation Field, and indicated that Crystal CG would keep on cooperation with Tongji University to provide a platform for students to show their talents. He believed that Tognji would serve as the biggest talent pool and knowledge base for Crystal CG.

Then, Vice President Wu Zhiqiang, Dean Ding Jiemin, Secretary General Wang Rihua, etc. together untied the ribbon on the “Christmas gift”, which showed the completion of the Innovation Field. After that, people went to look around in the Field, and it was mainly made up of four working spaces, namely Plastic, Metal, Wood and Jewelry. The facilities inside were very practical and with good texture.
