2011 Working Conference on Tongji International Student Affairs was held on Dec. 16th. The conference was chaired by Chen Xiaolong, Executive Vice President and Director of Teaching and Administration Guiding Committee of International Students. Chen Yinghui, Deputy Director of International Cooperation and Exchange Department of MOE was present at the meeting and addressed a speech. Those who were present also included President Pei Gang, Ma Jinming, Vice Chairman of Tongji University Council, Vice President Dong Qi, Vice President Chen Yiyi, Li Xin, Vice Chairman of Tongji University Council, President Assistant Hu Zhanfei, as well as party secretaries and deans from colleges.

In the conference, President Pei Gang addressed a keynote speech entitled strengthening international strategies and taking international education to a new level. He said we should further international strategies with Tongji characteristics, develop innovation-oriented international education and improve university operation. Chen Yinghui applauded Tongji’s achievements and innovation in international exchange and cooperation as well as in Study in Tongji Program and Study in China Program. Afterwards, Vice President Dong Qi gave a working report entitled optimizing structure and improving quality to open up new development in Tongji’s international education.

At the end of the meeting, awards and certificates were conferred to schools and individuals with outstanding working performance in 2011. Vice President Chen Yiyi announced the list of majors and courses of “Study in China Demonstration Base”.
