From Dec. 17th to 19th, Chen Xiaolong, Executive Vice President of Tongji attended Centenary Celebrations of Hong Kong University (HKU) at the invitation of Prof. Lap-Chee Tsui, President of HKU. 5,300 guests from education and political communities attended the grand celebrations, some of whom included Xu Litai, a member of Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress, The Hon Michael Suen Ming-yeung, GBS, JP, Secretary for Education, HKSAR, Mr. Edward Cheng Wai-sun, SBS, JP, Chairman of University Grants Committee, Ms. Elsie Leung, GBM, JP Former Secretary for Justice, HKSAR, Antony Leung Kam-chung, former director finacial secretary and Mr. Joseph Yam, Former Chief Executive of Hong Kong Monetary Authority.

Prof. Chen Xiaolong met Yin Xiaojing, Deputy Director of Liaison Office in Hong Kong and Weng Yideng, Vice President of Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. He talked with Mr. Weng about joint training of students in the fields of design and architecture and reached a tentative agreement. On Dec. 19th, Prof. Chen Xiaolong visited Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) and met Angelina YUEN, Vice President of PolyU. Both side reviewed the cooperation projects in 2011 and talked on 2012 work plan.
