On the afternoon of October 20th, Vice President Dong Qi met Prof. Axel Fremuth, President of University of Cologne and its delegation. During the meeting, Vice President Dong Qi stressed the cooperation strategies between Tongji and universities in Germany and hoped that cooperation in the fields including geography and geology, German language and literature, economy and management as well as vocational education. President Freimuth agreed with this proposal and thought the two universities shared a lot in common in terms of teaching and research and cooperation can be carried out through Junior Professor Project and faculty exchange.

Afterwards, with Vice President Dong Qi and President Freimuth’s witness, Secretary Li Ligui and Prof. Pape signed a cooperation agreement on student exchange at a school level on behalf of Foreign Language School in Tongji and department of Philosophy in University Cologne respectively.
