The second Governing Board Meeting of Chinesisch-Deutsche Hochschule (CDH) was held in Tongji on October 19th. More than 20 members of Governing Board, coming from Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Chinese Ministry of Education, Chinese Ministry of Science & Technology, China Scholarship Council, National Science Foundation China, Federal Foreign Office, Federal Ministry of Education and Research, German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), German Research Foundation (DFG) as well as several German partner universities, universities of applied sciences and companies, attended the meeting. Mr. Bode, the Vice Chairman of Governing Board Meeting of CDH and former Secretary General of the German Academic Exchange Center chaired the meeting.

At the meeting, China and Germany participating delegates listened to the work report and next year’s work plans from CDH, its subordinating organizations, Sino-German College of Applied Sciences (CDHAW) as well as Institute of Vocational and Technical Education (CDIBB). Both sides shared suggestions and ideas on CDH’s outlook and its future development and agreed that CDH will play an active role to keep consistent with the implementation of Cooperation and Innovation strategy and Tongji’s Excellent Program in promoting curriculum development of foreign language and “4+2” double degree program. CDH will keep on making contributions to create research programs between Sino-German School for PhD Study and German universities, enterprises and research institutions as well in bringing international research teams.
CDH serves as a platform to build up Tongji-Germany Cooperation which draws upon the resources from CDH, CDHAW as well as CDIBB, etc. After half year’s development, CDH had made a breakthrough in terms of double degree program in the mechanical field. Besides, from 12th to 21st, October, 2011, the CDH held an activity titled German Week which included more than 30 activities such as seminar, symposium, football matches, photograph competition and company day, etc. and began CDH’s first publication which showcased the various forms of cooperation with Germany.
