On the morning of Oct. 12th, Ben Young, professor of the Department of Civil Engineering, the University of Hong Kong, was employed as a part-time professor of Tongji University. A ceremony and report meeting was held in civil building.

Professor Gu Xianglin, the dean of the Tongji’s college of civil Engineering, awarded the certificate to professor Ben Young, and wore the badge of Tongji University for him. After that, Professor Ben Young gave a presentation titled “Excellence in Teaching = f(x) and What is f(x) ?”, introducing his 7-MUST teaching methods. He thought that good teaching needs time to be carefully prepared. Teachers need to pay attention on their teaching methods, attract students to think actively in the class, take more time to interact with students and listen to their feedbacks in order to adjust the teaching pace.
