Cooperation agreement signed between Tongji and Columbia College Chicago

On the morning of Sep. 27th, Tongji University and Columbia College Chicago signed cooperation agreement in Tongji. Our vice president Chen Yiyi and President Warrick Carter of Columbia College Chicago signed the agreement on behalf of each university.

President Chen Yiyi introduced Tongji’s way to run an international university, new media arts discipline and talent training. He hopes that our College of Communication and Art could deepen cooperation with Columbia College Chicago to further enhance the education level and talent training in new media art subject. President Warrick Carter also introduced their academic setting, education philosophy and talent training, and expressed that Tongji University is their first cooperation university in Asia and hopes they could continue to expand exchange and cooperation with Tongji in the future.

Under the agreement, each of the two sides will exchange 30 outstanding students to study for one semester, mutual exempt tuition fee, mutual recognize study credits, and mutual dispatch scholars and teachers for short-term exchange funded by the acceptance university. There are already 10 students from our College of Communication and Art in Columbia College Chicago for exchange from September this year. Meanwhile, Professor Doreen Bartoni from Columbia College Chicago as modular teaching expert came to give lectures in our university.

Columbia College Chicago was founded in 1890, which is a highly distinctive American private university in art and media. There are 3 undergraduate schools and 1 graduate school. The Media Arts College is its largest college.
