On Aug 12th, Executive Vice President Chen Xiaolong paid a visit to Aalto University, Finland, and signed a sustainable campus cooperation memorandum on behalf of Tongji University with Jorma Kyyrä, Vice President of Aalto University. Mr. Chen was accompanied by Shuguang Liu, Deputy Division Chief of Human Resource, Yongqi Liu, Vice dean of Design College and Deputy Director of Sino-Finnish Centre.
Encouraged by the establishment of Tongji University’s Sino-Finnish Centre, the two universities decide to launch further cooperation in education, scientific research and sustainable campus and facilitate the sustainable campus development in Chinese and Finnish Universities. The cooperative areas will include urban planning and architecture, ecological mobility, new energy and other teaching and scientific researches related to the ecological campus. Both universities will start faculty exchange and communication, and launch courses and activities focusing on campus resolution and sustainable research. The administration departments of the two universities will exchange and share the practical experience of the ecological campus’s solution. Executive Vice President Chen Xiaolong also invited Aalto University to join “Green Campus Alliance”.
The two universities will draft the execution program and define aims, execution details, responsible departments, funds and resources for each particular project.
After the meeting, Mr. Chen visited Aalto University’s Design Factory and had a talk with Vice Presidency Martti Raevaara.
