On the morning of July 13, Dr. Kent Wray, Provost of Missouri University of Science and Technology paid a visit to our university. Vice president Chen Yiyi received the provost and his delegation. Also present at the meeting were professor Li Zhenyu, director of the International Cooperation and Exchange Office, professor Zhouqi, dean of College of Environmental Science and Engineering, professor Li Yang, vice dean of School of Foreign languages and professor Wang Deping, vice dean of College of Materials Science and Engineering.
Vice president Chen Yiyi extended warm welcome to the Missouri delegation and then briefed them on the development of Tongji University, stressing that Tongji University is ready to cooperate with universities in the United States including Missouri University of Science and Technology. Professor Li Zhenyu, director of the International Cooperation and Exchange Office, talked about Tongji University’s internationalization, expecting to strengthen cooperation with Missouri University of Science and Technology. Dr. Kent Wray briefly introduced his university and the members of his delegation including Dr. Jeanie Hofer, director of Office of International Affairs, professor W. Lance Haynes, chair of Arts, Languages and Philosophy, professor Wayne Hebner, chair of Material Science, and Dr. Jerry Tien, senior faculty liaison, International Affairs-China. All the major participants of the meeting made self-introduction and exchanged their views. The two sides agreed to deepen cooperation in environment, material sciences and arts and languages, and develop creative modes for cooperation in new situation.
Finally, on behalf of Tongji University, vice president Chen Yiyi signed an updated cooperation agreement with Dr. Kent Wray. After the meeting, the delegation visited College of Environmental Science and Engineering and School of Foreign Languages of Tongji University.
