Prof.Dr.Ing Urlich Hackenberg, R&D Director of Volkswagen Group, visited Tongji and gave an excellent speech to the auto school students in New Energy Automobile Engineering Center.

From design to material selection, Prof.Dr.Ing Urlich Hackenberg detailed the R&D process of the latest research result “concept car XL1”. XL1 is the third generation car model of Volkswagen Group’s “1 liter car” strategy project, very fuel efficient. Fuel consumption per hundred kilometers broke 1L threshold, reaching 0.9L in recent test in Qatari.

Active asking, fluent in German, and sharp question, the students gave Prof.Dr.Ing Urlich Hackenberg deep impression. He hoped Tongji students could join in Volkswagen Group after graduation.
