On April 21, Executive Vice President Li Yongsheng of Tongji University met with Doc. Michael McQuade, Senior Vice President for Science & Technology at United Technologies Corporation. Executive Vice President Li Yongsheng made a general introduction about green building research and development in Tongji University and said he would encourage professors from Tongji to visit the United Technologies Corporation to enhance the overall teaching and research of our university in this field. Doc. Michael McQuade talked about the research of United Technologies Corporation on building energy saving. Both sides discussed establishing an undergraduate student internship center and a joint research center. Prof. He Pengfei, Director of the Science and Technology Department of Tongji University chaired the meeting. Prof. Tan Hongwei, Executive Deputy Director of Green Building and New Energy Center in Tongji made a report on this center. Professors from the College of Mechanical Engineering, College of Material Science and Engineering, and College of Electronics and Information Engineering also introduced their research and exchanged their views on the possible fields of cooperation.

After the meeting, the guests from United Technologies Corporation were shown around the Campus Energy Saving and Supervision Center and the students’ bath room applying the energy saving technology.
